On the site and while working with the craftsmen Andrea Bury, one of the directors of the Anayela, found herself captivated by the immense handicraft heritage of the Moroccan people. Sadly though, some of these skills were vanishing. With them, the beauty, wisdom, identity and stories were also at risk of being lost to the past. Since then, Andrea created the ABURY Foundation. The ABURY Foundation believes that everybody has amazing skills that only need an environment where they can blossom. and to create these environments is the goal of the foundation. With the great support of Omar Nahli, co-director of the Anayela and Mehdi Ennarici, manager of the Anayela - the ABURY Foundation started in 2011 and is fully supporting the a school in the Atlas Mountains - about 1 ½ hours from Marrakesh - where 40 women and 60 children learn how to read and write. Moreover the social business ABURY Collection is supporting local craftspeople and creating work opportunities - www.abury.net
